An open letter to a Westie Girl
Darling Westie,
When we lost Tootweethos (Pancake) your Mummy was there for us with you and Jigggsy. She sent us poems and letters of support and was a good friend.
Although, we never got the opportunity to visit you, you lived very far away, or to pick you up and scratch that head; those orange ear patches; under your cheeks; your crest and then carefully go through your feathers on your neck leaving you in seventh heaven and then afterwards as is the custom here, have a have a social sit together. Your Mummy with the letters and photo's she sent us it was for us although you were one of us.
Darling your going to the Rainbow Bridge so suddenly was felt here too. I too cried for you little one as if one of my own had left too.
Little one you must go to the Rainbow Bridge and there find your friends find Pancake tell her you know us sit with her an preen your feathers as you would have done here. Tell everyone you meet what a wonderful life you had; tell them of your Mummy; the car rides; the plane trips, your visits to her work and your visits to Granny and every one.
We all miss you and when our times come as they will surely come one by one, we look forward to seeing you with Mummy and Jiggsy and all your family at the Rainbow Bridge.

There are some wonderful stories, healing poetry, links, all to help you come to terms with what has happened; to help you remember your little friend and to help you deal with the pain. Remember grief is like a thief in the night and is no respecter of time or place or occasion it can floor you when least expected.
